Download the compass (in German): DOI 10.5281/zenodo.17802533

The requirements for Citizen Science projects are high. Open data – open (research) data – is central to creating transparency and sustainability. Open data principles should be considered from the outset in Citizen Science projects. To make this easier, the Compass Open Data in Citizen Science provides a common thread for getting started. As a compass, it guides you through the basics and important insights on the topic of open data. For more in-depth navigation, there is a glossary with explanations of terms, tips, and references to relevant tools – from topics such as anonymization and digital ethics to repositories such as Zenodo.

The “Compass Open Data in Citizen Science – An Orientation for Beginners” builds on the “Open Data in Citizen Science” event series and is aimed at Citizen Science coordinators and project managers who have little or no experience with the topic. Have a good journey – step by step towards the implementation and promotion of open data practices in Citizen Science!
