Five new Seed Grant projects to promote participatory research
As in previous years, there was considerable interest in the eighth and final Seed Grant Call. We received a total of 42 project proposals. From urban soundscapes, inclusive museums, and biodiversity in agricultural landscapes to end-of-life care and the relationship between humans and water – the five funded projects cover a wide range of topics. We briefly introduce them here.

A new chapter: moving on from the Citizen Science (CS) Project Builder
Citizen Science Zurich (CSZ) will be deactivating the CS Project Builder at the end of June. Since 2020, the platform has successfully supported numerous projects for citizen scientists in Switzerland and beyond.

Seed Grant Call 2026 is now open!
Once a year we award Seed Grants for the development or implementation of participatory Citizen Science projects. Teams of academic researchers from the University of Zurich and citizens can jointly submit their project ideas now until 30 April 2026.

Citizen Science Zurich is now a permanent center at the University of Zurich
After eight successful years as a Competence Center at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich, we are now a permanent center at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Zurich.
