A successful launch of our "CAS Citizen Science und Public Engagement"

On 23 October 2025, our "CAS Citizen Science und Public Engagement" got off to a very successful start with a fantastic and motivated group of participants. We are looking forward to all the exciting things that lie ahead of us over the next twelve months.

In the introductory module, the 13 participants and their projects first got to know each other and then immersed themselves in the basics of Citizen Science and Public Engagement. Although the participants work in very different fields and with different stakeholders, they are united by their desire to explore new ways of jointly producing knowledge.

On the second day, Prof. Dr. Alice Hertzog guided us through the current exhibition “Benin verpflichtet. Wie mit geraubten Königsschätzen umgehen?” (Benin obliges. How to deal with stolen royal treasures?) at the Ethnographic Museum in Zurich (which, incidentally, can still be visited free of charge until 8 March 2026), and we had the opportunity to talk to her and Dr. Maike Powroznik about past and current participatory formats at the museum. Thank you very much for the successful exchange and the wonderful insights, Alice and Maike!

Incidentally, the CAS modules can also be taken as standalone courses, and we still have places available! The courses are held in German.
